YIPPIE! I can stamp!

It seems that every once in awhile we all go thru that "funk". You know the one I am talking about, right? Where everything you makes looks like crap & you are so overwhelmed by all the junk you have in your stamping area? Well, I went thru that this past month and finally decided to go play and started by pulling out some of my older cards that I made and using the layouts/color schemes to make new cards.

Talk about a creative jump start! I started out doing the exact same thing (just different stamps) and ended up not needing anything for that inspiration I was lacking.

I think in the past 2 days I have made over different cards. It has been so much fun playing!

Think I will give away a little something...blog candy!

Rules: Let me know how you fight the creative "funk". Leave me a comment and I will have L-man pick a winner this weekend.

I like your idea! (Card is cute too!)
I get in the same rut with styles, layouts and even papers. So I clean up the room, putting away the scraps so that I'm not tempted to choose paper that's laying out. I choose a completely different sketche for the layout with different stamps and everything feels more fresh.

have (ONE) a glass of wine and read--two books I have found helpful are on creativity and they have little mini-projects in them....so while it is distracting...it does lead to other ideas....

The first thing I do is clean up my stamp table..........then I stare out the window and look at the beauty that God has created.....I focus on something...pick colors, paper, a stamp set and go to work. That's when I have my best success.....
So glad to hear that you are doing better....It's good to have you "back"!!

I tend to sit at my table and ponder, "What really is an adhesive?"
Then I take a stamp set that I haven't used in a while and pick 3 colors of paper and go to work. I give myself about 30 minutes to come up with something... if it's not "flowing".. I eat Chocolate!! :)

Pretty darn cute card, Awna. I love how the edge is flipped up. My funk? Well, yah know. When I'm really bad, my sister in Mississippi notices I don't blog and she e-mails me and tells me to snap out of it--LOL.

really, really cute card
I tend to clean my craft room and reorganize and find that after it's all clean and I have handled all my "toys" I have some fresh ideas to play. If that doesn't work, well, I usually sit around and tell myself I stink at it all anyways. I know it's not pretty, but it's the truth.

Creative funk? Been there, done that. I just grab a big bowl, fill it with mint chocolate chip ice cream and lots of sprinkles. Then I sit down and look through some stamping mags until the inspiration hits me. If need be, go back for a second bowl. LOL

That is a great idea Awna! I end up "hoarding" some of my older cards because I like something about them. But then I never refer back to them for inspiration. I NEED to do this!!!

Sometimes to get my mojo going again, I find some kind of challenge online to do. Whether it be on someone's blog, or a message board.
