time out

I am going to take a time out for a little bit. I am not feeling the greatest right now.

If you need any stamp ideas, want some book recommendations or want to chit chat, feel free to email me.

I won't be gone for long, I hope.

Saturday Story Time

I picked up this book last week on a whim. Actually, I couldn't find the other 3 books that I wanted to read so this was my last choice. Boy am I glad I did. The book was full of drama, I really liked it!

I have to admit, until this past year, I never read Chrisitan fiction. In fact, when I thought Christian Fiction, the only books that came to my mind were the scarey Left Behind books. OK, with that being said, I am loving the books that I have been reading!

About this book: Presumed Guilty...the main character was a strong woman with a sketchy past but overcame it. After her husband was arrested her faith was tested...big time.

Not only did she have the issues with her pastor husband being arrested for murdering a porn star but she is also having troubles with her son. He was just discharged from the military and is fighting his own demons after serving in Iraq.

Anyways, I don't want to say much more, I don't want to ruin it for you...I would give it a 4/5 stars!

Lipstick & Water

Bad thing, can't really get a good shot of the elephant. It is really cool! I stamped it twice and put the face on with pop dots for added depth.

Good Job Logan!

Last week Logan had his Spring Concert...it was a great show. The entire show was done using silly songs and everyone was crackin' up the entire time.
I made this card for him congrat'ing him on a job well done. He was so worried...he tells me that he has "Stage Tightness"

Get Well

I think that this is my favorite card right now. I loved it so much that I made 6 of them.
I do have to admit, it was a little ouside of my box also...it is 5.5x5.5 in size. I never do cards that size.

Saturday Story Time

This last month our library's book club chose a Karen Kingsbury book to read for the monthly Faithful Reader's group. The book we read was "A Time to Dance".

I really liked it, at first I didn't think I would. The storyline was good and it was a quick read. The subject was a touchy one, divorce & a Christian family. This can be a taboo subject for some people. I really got a lot out of this book and it changed the way I look at my marriage and husband. Anyway, here is what they have to say about it:

John and Abby were the perfect couple, but they are about to lose it all: On the verge of having an affair, John is no more the man Abby married than she is the long ago girl of his dreams. They make the sad decision to divorce. When they gather their three children to tell them the news, their daughter makes an announcement of her own: she's getting married that summer.Determined not to ruin their daughter's season of happiness, Abby and John secretly agree to put their divorce plans on hold. But as the wedding nears, they wonder: Is it possible to find joy, after all these years, and perhaps the time...to dance.

Beautiful Girl

I recently took part in the challenges over at the Shack and made a card using this stamp.
I have had it for some time and haven't used it in like forever.
The color looks a little off, it was late at night, but it looks really soft.

strength

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'
When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence...
'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

awesome mail day!

Last weekend I received an awesome box of goodies from my BFF (Or Biffy as the kids call her) Eva.

She sent me a few books, stamp stuff and the bestest things, a bracelet and necklace that she made herself!

I am so touched that she took the time to make such a beautiful pair of blingy things for me to wear.

I have gotten so many comments on them, even my mom, who never notices anything I wear, unless it is lipstick that is, said they were very pretty. This is a lot coming from a woman who is not much of a girly girl and has not liking for the bling. (Well, except for the cross necklace I bought & gave to her last Mother's Day...)

Anyways, Eva, you rock! Thanks so much for being such a wonderful friend to me. I really don't deserve you but I am so glad I have you! Sorry it took me a week to post this thanks :)

Happiness...

outside of my box...

I love to color images, I am not good at the rest of the stampy stuff out there...I love looking at all the cool techniques but to be honest, I hate to get really messy and I hate having to clean up stuff on my stamp area.

So, this card is something different or me. I am sure it is something basic for many others out there is stampland. I just stamped the background flowers multiple times in different colors and stamped the saying...yep, maybe dull to the technique savy but I am proud of it :)

I love my husband!

I know, as wives we all say this...but I think my hubby is the bestest! Let me tell you why :)

If you are from the Shack, this is pretty much the same thing I was talking about over there :)

As I have rambled on in posts below, I went to the stamp show this weekend. I loved being with MaryAnn & JP, playing with glitter and seeing friends and vendors after being away for some time. I was so worried since I was only able to get about 2-3 hrs asleep due to the foot pain coming back without the pump being in, but it was a ton of fun demo'ing.

So after the show was over Sat. Shawn and I checked in to the hotel across the street. It is an old Quaker oatmeal factory and they turned the old silo's into hotel rooms. It was a beautiful room, dark curtains, a great shower head and just over all a romantic stay. I loved the shower...esp. because it has been the first shower I have taken since the beginning of March, talk about awesome!

On Sunday, Shawn kept telling me to go back to the show to shop, watch demo's, etc but I was worried because I didn't want him to have to sit in the truck the entire time. He didn't however, he said he wanted to go to the show with me to help me walk and carry stuff.

We went to the show, he took photos of booths, sample boards, plus photos of me and old TAC friends and vendors since I used to work the shows all the time before I was hurt. He even sat and did a demo with me at the Stampscapes booth! That and he helped me shop like crazy, not batting an eye and even picking stuff out for me. Gotta love that, hehehe.

I must admit, I think I have fallen in love with my husband again. Not just because he took me to a stamp show either, LOL! He was so kind, so helpful, he took time to do things with me when I know he did not really want to be there. He has put up with a lot lately with all the medical treatments, drs appts., helping with bandage and dressing changes and now a stamp show. Can it get any better?

Miss ya!

This weekend marks the one year anniversary of a sad event. It has been one year since I have seen my dear bestest bud Eva.
I hate living 4-5 states away from her. I think we should live closer!
Then again, maybe it is best if we don't see each other daily, maybe we would get bored of each other or drive each other bnkers!
Miss you Eva :(

stampscape demo

this past weekend while at the show, Shawn and I sat down and played with the stampscape images and stampboard. We had a good time making these.

Now, can you figure out which board is mine and which is Shawn's?

When we showed them to the kids, 2 got it right.
